It seems like Xiaomi-related news never stop. Either the company announces new products, or we see rumors / leaks regarding their products. This China-based company has introduced quite a few devices in the last couple of months, and their very last product is the Mi Band 2 fitness tracker which we knew was coming. Xiaomi managed to surprise everyone yet again with the price of the Mi Band 2, this device costs only $22 in China, and it actually has a display this time around, and a bevy of features on top of that. That being said, new Redmi 3 devices were certified recently as well, and it seems like the company might be getting ready to introduce yet another high-end device soon, read on.
Xiaomi has introduced their new flagship back in February during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the Mi 5. That smartphone sports a 5.15-inch display, and the company is expected to announce the Mi Note 2 flagship phablet later in the year. Well, according to the new rumor which surfaced in China, the company might also unveil a really small well-specced smartphone sometime this year. According to this rumor, the phone will sport a 4.3-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, and will resemble the Mi 5. This handset is rumored to ship with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor will allegedly fuel the device. This is Qualcomm’s flagship SoC, and next to the Exynos 8890, the most powerful mobile chip out there at the moment. The 13-megapixel camera (Sony’s IMX258 sensor) is rumored to be available on the back of this phone, and a 2,350mAh battery will also be a part of this package. Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 tech will be available as well, and considering how small this battery is, you’ll be able to charge it in no time.
According to the source, this device will be a direct competitor to Apple’s iPhone SE handset which is selling really well in China. Unlike the iPhone SE, however, this device will actually going to be affordable, as pretty much every other Xiaomi-branded smartphone is. The source says that the device will cost around 1,800 Yuan ($273) in China, and that it might launch before the end of this month.
