Leak: Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Cases Show Familiar Design

Currently, the Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be announced on August 2nd, at an Unpacked event in New York City. Continuing their trend that they started last year, in which they announce the Galaxy Note 7 ahead of the new iPhone launch – usually slated for mid-September. Samsung is also expected to skip the Galaxy Note 6 and go straight to the Galaxy Note 7, rumors point to the fact that they want to bring it in-line with the Galaxy S series. There’s been a ton of rumors about the Galaxy Note 7 already. Some have stated that there will be just one model, while others have stated there will be a curved display and a flat display model. The truth likely won’t come out until after the device is announced in August.

Now, online retailer Mobile Fun has posted a slew of Galaxy Note 7 cases from Olixar, which show that the device is going to feature a rather familiar design, and have a curved display. Making it look very similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge+ that the company announced in 2015. It’s also worth noting that this could just be a render that Olixar put together based on the dimensions that Samsung gave them. Companies typically send out dimensions for their upcoming smartphone to case makers so that they can get started on making their cases and having them available at launch or shortly after – hence all of the case leaks ahead of smartphone launches in recent years. With this case, you see all of the usual suspects, including the S Pen slot on the bottom, the camera module with flash on the right side of the camera, on the back of the device, and of course the physical home button is there to stay.

Recent rumors point towards the Galaxy Note 7 featuring either a 5.7-inch or 5.8-inch curved Super AMOLED QHD (2560×1440 resolution) display, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (some rumors state that it could be the Snapdragon 823, which is still unannounced) or the Exynos 8890, with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There are also rumors of the device sporting an Iris scanner, and of course it will feature a fingerprint reader and Samsung Pay.
