Motorola has introduced two new smartphones today during Lenovo’s Tech World 2016 conference. The devices were announced in San Francisco, and we’ve already covered their announcements. The Moto Z and Moto Z Force are quite similar in many ways, though the Moto Z Force comes with a far more powerful camera, and also a significantly bigger battery pack. That being said, let’s take a closer look at Moto Z Force’s specifications, shall we.
The Motorola Moto Z Force is, much like the regular Moto Z handset, made from military aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel. Qualcomm’s most powerful processor, the Snapdragon 820, is fueling this smartphone. This chip is running at 2.2Ghz, and ships with the Adreno 530 GPU for graphics processing. The device also packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS internal storage (expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card). The 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440, 535 ppi) AMOLED display is the first thing you’ll notice when you pick up this device, and this panel won’t break easily, as it features Motorola’s ShatterShield protection.
The Moto Z Force is, much like the regular Moto Z model, water repellent thanks to nano-coating, which should help with water splashes and rain. The 3,500mAh non-removable battery comes with this device, and Turbo Charging is also available on this phone. The fingerprint scanner is placed below the display on the Moto Z Force, and is quite fast according to the company. The 21-megapixel OIS shooter (f/1.8 aperture, Laser Autofocus, PDAF, 1.12um pixel size with Deep Trench Isolation) is placed on the back of the Moto Z Force, and is flanked by the Laser Autofocus. The 5-megapixel selfie shooter (1.4um pixel size, wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture) is available up front, along with the front-facing flash.
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Moto Z Force, and this device also comes with the Moto Mods connector, just like the regular Moto Z handset. The USB-C port is placed on the bottom of the phone, and it can be used for audio (instead of the 3.5mm headphone jack), data transfer and charging the phone (Motorola includes the 3.5mm to USB-C headphone port). The Motorola Moto Z Force measures 155.9 x 75.8 x 6.99mm, while it weighs 163 grams.
