With the announcement happening earlier this morning the OnePlus 3 is now official, and the device will soon be available for purchase here in the U.S. up on the OnePlus website. Following the initial announcement, the company didn’t waste any time in publishing videos for their device to their official YouTube channel, a move which likely helps to get the word out on the device to more people as their launch event had to be viewed through the use of a downloadable app, while videos through services like YouTube can be viewed by a much broader range of users. There are already two videos up and while they both appear to be somewhat similar, as their both labeled to seem like introduction or announcement videos, this isn’t exactly the case, as one video introduces the phone while the other goes more in depth on the phone’s key features and new changes compared to last year’s model.
If you want quick rundown of the phone, the first video is less than a minute long and simply lists off a few highlights of the device while showcasing the design. If you want something a little more detailed, the second video is nearly four minutes long and will describe the various key features of the device such as the all-new Dash Charge technology, the colors of the device, and the use of space-grade aluminum alloy for the metal unibody design.
You can also learn a little more about the camera in the OnePlus 3 which features a robust set of camera functions, like smart capture, OIS and EIS technology to help with crisp, clear pictures and video recording, and the use of manual mode controls so you can take better pictures with more precision. The OnePlus 3 also supports RAW image files if you need them which OnePlus is keen to point out. Of course, they also go over things like the RAM and the fingerprint sensor, which should now support mobile payments thanks to the integrated NFC, and you’ll hear a little bit about the unique Alert slider that allows for easy switching between the different notification profiles.
