Monday of next week will bring with it the latest ‘uncarrier move’ from T-Mobile. For those counting this is un-carrier 11. While the industry will have to wait until Monday before all the details come through on what T-Mobile hopes will be the latest industry shaking move, the past few weeks has seen a number of rumored aspects coming through on what should be expected. Most notably, back at the start of May when a report came through detailing that T-Mobile planned two specific (although related) aspects. The first was the launch of a “T-Mobile Tuesdays” app and the second was a stock option for T-Mobile customers. A new report from VentureBeat is now detailing these two aspects more clearly, with the information said to be coming from the same source as before.
In terms of T-Mobile Tuesdays, the app will primarily be a reward app and will look to offer customers the chance to win various big prizes. However, it also seems that it will offer customers smaller weekly freebies as well, with a two-topping Domino’s pizza and a VUDU movie rental being prime examples. However, the T-Mobile Tuesdays app also seems to be the gateway to the stock option, which the information currently states will be promoted as “Stock Up”. Basically, prepaid customers who download the app will automatically be able to claim one share through Loyal3. Those same customers will be able to also secure another 99 shares each year (100 in total) by referring people to T-Mobile’s network. With each referral worth one share for T-Mobile customers and two shares for customers who have been with the network in excess of five years.
There are of course going to be some caveats in place and besides the fact that you need to be a postpaid customer, referral information will need to be inputted into the T-Mobile Tuesdays app and referrals will need to remain active for at least 15 days before the shares can be claimed. Not to mention, the first share (by downloading the app) will need to be claimed by June 21. The information does also note that there will be another way to gain shares and this way is much more straightforward as T-Mobile will be offering shares as part of a “qualification-free giveaway.” As mentioned, this information is coming by way of a source and so the details could be inaccurate, incomplete or subject to change. Either way, Monday will be the day when it does become clear what un-carrier 11 is bringing to the table.
