The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (or Note 6, depending on which name will Samsung opt for) is one of the most anticipated smartphones this year. This Korea-based tech giant had already released the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagships smartphones, and it’s time to announce their new flagship phablet, as it’s the case every year. The Galaxy Note 7 is expected to arrive in early August, well, August 2nd if the latest rumor is to be believed. We’ve seen a number of Galaxy Note 7 rumors recently, and surprisingly enough, that is not the device which was mentioned in a rumor which surfaced earlier today, read on.
The device that a new rumor mentioned is the Galaxy S8, surprisingly. Samsung’s 2017 flagship smartphone is not expected to arrive until next Mobile World Congress (MWC) which is scheduled for Q1 next year. Despite the fact the Galaxy S8 unveiling is still far away, we’ve seen several Galaxy S8 rumors thus far, and the newest one talks more about the device’s specifications. According to this rumor, the Galaxy S8 will sport a dual camera setup on its back, and a UHD resolution display up front. That 4K display is expected to come with a resolution of 3840 x 2160, and the reason for increasing such a high-res display is allegedly VR. Virtual Reality is becoming more and more popular these days, and you can only imagine what will happen until next year, so it is possible we might see such a high-res display in the Galaxy S8, who knows. Now, we will need a rather large battery pack in order to fuel this phone because of its display, right? Well, yes, and the rumor says the Galaxy S8 will include a rather large battery.
In addition to the display and camera setup, this smartphone is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 830 processor, though we don’t know much about this chip yet. The Snapdragon 830 will be produced using the 10nm FinFET processor, which will make it significantly more energy efficient than the Snapdragon 820. That is more or less it as far as this rumor goes, we still don’t know what size the display will be, and if the device will be waterproof or not. The Galaxy S6 and S7 were rather similar in terms of the design, and we do expect the Galaxy S8 will take a step away from this design in order to make some more significant changes considering Samsung tends to do that after 2 iterations, but we’ll see what happens.
