The Xiaomi Mi 5 is one of the most powerful smartphones that was announced this year. Xiaomi had introduced this handset back in February during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and the device is now available in specific regions. The phone has been in high demand in China ever since it was released, and it seems like Xiaomi might be preparing a new Mi 5 variant, read on.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 rumors have been popping up like crazy, and the latest one claims that the device will arrive next month. Well, it seems like this is not the only high-end smartphone Xiaomi is planning to release in the near future, the Mi 5s is allegedly also on the way. According to a new leak from China, the Xiaomi Mi 5s will be a new variant of the Mi 5, and will ship with a pressure-sensitive display. We’ve already seen a number of Android devices with pressure sensitive displays out there, including the Huawei Mate S, Meizu PRO 6 and the ZTE Axon Mini (Premium Edition). Anyhow, the rumor also claims that the Mi 5s will ship with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner as well, and that the phone will sport a dual camera setup on the back, as well as 6GB of RAM. The phone will, allegedly, ship with a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, and will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 or Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor.
Now, as far as the design of this phone is concerned, it is expected to look quite similar to the regular Xiaomi Mi 5, which means you can expect it to be made out of metal and glass, but it will be somewhat bigger, of course. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this device, and Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 will probably come installed on top of Google’s operating system. We still don’t know when will this phone arrive, but if this rumor is accurate, then you can expect more info to surface soon. Either way, it seems like Xiaomi is getting ready to release two really compelling devices soon, the Mi 5s flagship smartphone, and the Mi Note 2 flagship phablet.
