The Lenovo Tech World 2016 press event has been hosted in San Francisco yesterday, and during the keynote, Lenovo had plenty to say. The company has introduced three new PHAB2 smartphones, shown off some prototype bendable devices, talked a lot about ‘Tango’ AR, etc. That being said, we’ve covered pretty much everything in detail already, including hands-on sessions with various devices Lenovo has announced. Well, considering we were at the event, we’ve also managed to shoot some video in order to give you a better idea of what Lenovo announced, read on.
We’re here to take a closer look at two out of three phablets Lenovo introduced yesterday, the PHAB2 and PHAB2 Plus. There are two YouTube videos embedded below this article, one for each of the two devices. These are only short presentations of Lenovo’s newest products, and you can also take a look at our PHAB2 and PHAB2 Plus hands-on images if you’d like. These two devices are quite big, both of them sport 6.4-inch displays, though the display resolutions are different, and there are quite a few differences in the spec department as well. These two devices are below the PHAB2 Pro in the pecking order, but they’re quite interesting nonetheless. That being said, let’s take a look at their specs, shall we.
The PHAB2 comes with a 6.4-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, while the PHAB2 Plus’ 6.4-inch panel sports a fullHD (1920 x 1080) resolution. Both of these phones pack in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. The PHAB2 is fueled by the MT8735 quad-core processor, while the PHAB2 Plus sports a somewhat more powerful MT8783 octa-core SoC. Lenovo has included Dolby Audio and Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 on both of these phones, and both of them ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The PHAB2 comes with a single 13-megapixel sensor on the back, while the PHAB2 Plus comes with two such sensors. The two devices also sport the same battery pack, a 4,050mAh unit which should be able to provide more than enough battery juice to keep you running until the end of the day.
