The Vivo X7 and X7 Plus handsets have been leaking out like crazy over the last couple of weeks, and the X7 variant had been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) quite recently as well. Plenty of detail leaked out when it comes to both of these phones, and we basically knew what to expect when it comes to both their specs and the design. That being said, Vivo has finally introduced both of these smartphones during the company’s press event in China, let’s see what they have to offer.
Both of these smartphones are made out of metal (magnesium alloy), and they’re basically identical in terms of the design, though the Vivo X7 Plus is a noticeably larger handset. The Vivo X7 features a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 652 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. The AK4376 Hi-Fi chips is also included in this package, and a 13-megapixel camera is placed on the back of this smartphone. Interesting enough, the Vivo X7 comes with a 16-megapixel front-facing snapper, which will certainly make this handset appealing to selfie addicts.
Now, the Vivo X7 Plus is actually quite similar to the Vivo X7 when it comes to specs. The Vivo X7 Plus sports a 5.7-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED panel, 4GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of native storage. This handset is also fueled by the Snapdragon 652 SoC, but it comes with a larger, 4,000mAh battery on the inside. The device also features two 16-megapixel cameras, one on the front, and one on the back. The Vivo X7 Plus also comes with the Hi-Fi AK4376 chip, and is equipped with 4G LTE just like its sibling. Both of these devices sport front-facing fingerprint scanners which are built into the home button, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on both the Vivo X7 and Vivo X7 Plus. Interesting enough, the company did not include Android 6.0 Marshmallow here.
The Vivo X7 measures 147.3 x 71.85 x 7.24mm, while the phone weighs 151 grams. The Vivo X7 Plus, on the other hand, measures 158.86 x 77.94 x 7.49mm, and weighs 183.5 grams. The Vivo X7 will cost 2,498 Yuan ($375) in China, while we still don’t the pricing for the Vivo X7 Plus.
