Vivo is a China-based smartphone manufacturer which released one of the more interesting devices this year, the Vivo XPlay 5. Now, this device is mostly interesting because of its ‘Dual Edge’ display, it is curved on both sides just like the Galaxy S7 Edge which was announced before it, in February this year. The XPlay 5 is also the company’s current flagship, this phone features a 5.43-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC is also a part of this package, and the phone is made out of metal.
That being said, Vivo intends to release two additional smartphones on June 30th, the Vivo X7 and X7 Plus. These two phones have been leaking out for quite some time now, and they actually resemble quite a few smartphones that are already available out in the market, at least based on a number of leaks we’ve seen thus far. It was only a matter of time before we see these two phones certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), and the base Vivo X7 model just surfaced on TENAA. Interesting enough, TENAA’s listing did not share the image of the Vivo X7, but the site did confirm this phone’s specifications. According to the site, the phone will feature a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 652 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Adreno 510 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter will be placed on the back of this device, and a 16-megapixel camera will be available up front. The 2,930mAh battery is also a part of this package, and the device will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop it seems.
According to TENAA, the Vivo X7 will measure 147.3 x 71.85 x 7.24mm, while it will weight 151 grams. The device will ship in Gold and Rose Gold color variants, and will be made out of metal. 4G LTE connectivity will be included here, and even though TENAA’s certification did not confirm this, we do expect this phone to ship with a physical home key and a fingerprint scanner which will be built into the home button.
