It seems like the rumor mill and leak factories almost always have at least one big target these days, and with the official announcement for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 looming close at hand, the new darling of the unofficial revelation scene seems to be a new piece from LeEco, sporting dual cameras. Showing off a high-end metal body in pictures, this just might be the rumored Le X720 flagship that recently made its way into the AnTuTu database with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor in tow. The new phone that may or may not be the X720 flagship had a good few glamour shots, some of them being quite clear, leaked onto the internet courtesy of Weibo user KJuma.
The shots are of a device in a rose gold hue, with the back of the device graced by two cameras. Rather than being separated, the two cameras share a protrusion on the back of device, with a curved line containing two sets of flash bulbs along for the ride. The smiley face of a camera module has what appears to be a fingerprint sensor right below it, then some text that may be internal jargon, a serial number or the company name, but seems to be obscured by the blurrycam. White antenna lines mark the sides, somewhat aping the Samsung Galaxy S7, while the front panel features a small black bezel between the screen area and the buttons, reminiscent of the modular LG G5. The volume rocker and power button share a side on the device as well. Three capacitive buttons on the metal chin of the device bring a bit of balance between the front and back. Something that could be a simple case is around the device in one of the pictures, a featureless and brandless black box that fits somewhat snugly.
Thus far, any details beyond these photos and the AnTuTu listing is unavailable, leaving the phone shrouded mostly in mystery. Obviously, release and announcement dates are still unavailable, so stay tuned for further news as this newest handset makes its way through the leaks and rumors that mark most phones’ penultimate moments out of the public eye prior to the official announcement.
