The Snapdragon 820 processor is Qualcomm’s currently flagship mobile SoC. This processor has been utilized by a number of well-known smartphone manufacturers, such as Samsung, LG, HTC, Motorola, Xiaomi, OnePlus, etc. This is a 64-bit quad-core processor, and despite the fact it is Qualcomm’s main SoC for the year, rumors have been suggesting that the company plans to introduce a new variant of this SoC called the Snapdragon 821 and / or Snapdragon 823, both versions were mentioned, separately. Now, this new version of the SoC is rumored to be identical to the regular Snapdragon 820 chip in all ways, but one, clock speed. That being said, rumors claim that LeEco and Xiaomi are both planning to release phones fueled by the Snapdragon 821, and now we get to see the first leak of such a smartphone, read on.
The LeEco LEX720 popped up on AnTuTu, and it is fueled by the Qualcomm MSM8996pro processor, this is either the Snapdragon 821 or Snapdragon 823, we cannot know for sure, but it’s probably the former. Anyhow, this smartphone is presumably a new version of LeEco’s Le Max 2 flagship phablet, and according to the listing, the phone will sport a fullHD display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this device, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find LeEco’s custom UI. The 16-megapixel snapper will be placed on the back of this device, and an 8-megapixel shooter will be available up front it seems. Now, this device actually managed to score 154,272 points on AnTuTu, which is staggering.
LeEco has already announced a press conference for June 29th, and we presume this handset will be announced during the show. This might be a new version of the Le Max 2, but it seems weird a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera is listed on AnTuTu, mainly because the original Le Max 2 sports a 21-megapixel shooter. So, it is possible this is a new variant of the company’s Le 2 smartphone, or perhaps a completely new device, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, we’ll make sure to let you know if any new info surfaces before LeEco actually announces this smartphone, stay tuned.
