The Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi Note 2 are the two upcoming high-end smartphones by Xiaomi. Both of these devices have been leaking out for a while now, and judging by those rumors, both of them could be fueled by the (yet unannounced) Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoC. The Xiaomi Mi 5s will, reportedly, going to be a higher-end variant of the already announced Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship which arrived back in February this year. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2, on the other hand, will be a direct successor to the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro phablets which were introduced back in January 2015.
That being said, some new info surfaced regarding the Mi 5s and Mi Note 2, so let’s see what’s it all about, shall we. According to the industry insider, the Mi 5s and Mi Note 2 will both ship with pressure sensitive displays, though these pressure sensitive displays will, allegedly, be unlike anything we’ve seen thus far. The source claims that these two phones will be much better than we’ve seen in other devices with such displays out in the market, they might offer advanced touch-based options. Now, this really doesn’t mean much considering that the source does not explain what exactly this means, but it is possible Xiaomi intends to include tons of functions for their pressure sensitive displays, and quite possibly even let users customize some of those actions, we’ll see. The Huawei Mate S was the first smartphone with the pressure sensitive display (at least it was announced first), and its successor is due to arrive in September this year during IFA. Since then, we’ve seen a couple of more such smartphones, and the Mi 5s and Mi Note 2 will be the first such phones released by Xiaomi, presuming this information is accurate, of course.
As already mentioned, the Mi 5s and Mi Note 2 have been leaking out for a while now. Back in April, a rumor surfaced saying that both of these devices will ship with curved displays, and more recently, rumors have been pointing towards the Snapdragon 821 as Xiaomi’s SoC of choice. The Xiaomi Mi 5s is rumored to ship with a 5.5-inch fullHD display, 6GB of RAM, and it will probably sport an identical design to the original Xiaomi Mi 5, except for the fact it will be bigger, of course. The Mi Note 2, on the other hand, might ship in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, while a 4,000mAh battery has also been mentioned. The phone will, reportedly ship with a 5.7-inch display, and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera.
