The Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro phablets were introduced back in January 2015. These two devices were the company’s flagship phablets, and they still are to this day, though the Mi Max is a part of the equation now as well, even though that is more of a mid-range device, and it sports a significantly larger display than the Mi Note devices. Xiaomi was actually expected to introduce the Mi Note 2 device(s) back in January this year, but that didn’t happen. We’ve seen quite a few rumors regarding the Mi Note 2 thus far, and a new one just surfaced, and it comes with quite a bit of info, read on.
The company’s co-founder, Lin Bin, announced that the company plans to unveil a new flagship device in July, but unfortunately Xiaomi did not reveal any additional details when it comes to this phone, but we presume he was talking about the Mi Note 2. Well, a new rumor which surfaced in China says that the phone will arrive during the Xiaomi Summer Conference 2016, but unfortunately, we still don’t know when exactly will Xiaomi host that event. Anyhow, the rumor claims that the Mi Note 2 will ship in three variants this time around, and all three of those devices will sport 5.7-inch displays. The standard variant of the device is said to sport a fullHD display, while the higher-end and ‘Edge’ models will come with QHD resolution displays. The two more expensive models will also ship with pressure sensitive displays, while the base model will sport a regular panel up front.
The base model of the device will, allegedly, ship with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while the high-end variant will come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The Mi Note 2 ‘Edge’ variant is going to be the most expensive smartphone here, and it will ship with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The standard Mi Note 2 model will ship with a 16-megapixel main camera, while the two other devices are said to come with two 12-megapixel shooters on the back. All the Mi Note 2 devices will pack in a 4,000mAh battery units, a fingerprint scanner, NFC, Hi-Fi audio and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 functionality. Now, as far as pricing is concerned, the base model is said to cost 2,499 Yuan ($376), while the high-end and ‘Edge’ variants will cost 2,999 Yuan ($451) and 3,499 Yuan ($526) if this rumor is to be believed.
