Following the launch of LG’s flagship, the LG G5, the South Korean manufacturer has unveiled a new line-up of mid-range smartphones in the new X-Series. In the latest update to the series, the official YouTube channel for LG Mobile has uploaded two teaser videos featuring the LG X mach and the LG X max, hinting at a possible launch soon. The videos allow us a better look at the smartphones and also a sneak peek at the specifications, although specific details have not been revealed yet.
The first video of the two is about 40 seconds long and starts with the keyword ‘fast’. It depicts the LG X mach, and the highlighted feature of the device is support for LTE Cat9 3CA, which can support bandwidth delivering download speeds of up to 400 Mbps. Although the exact model of processor is not specified, according to the video, the device is powered by a six-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and has a 5.5 inch Quad HD display. One surprising point to note is that LG’s signature rear buttons have been included in the device, despite these being scrapped from their flagship G5. The device also features a rear fingerprint scanner and comes in two colors as revealed in the teaser.
The other teaser video emphasizes on the word ‘Big’ and as you probably guessed, it features the new LG X max. Although it has the same screen size as the LG X mach, it is touted as having a ‘big’ display with a modest 720p resolution. Other features also suggest an entry-level smartphone, as the LG X max is accompanied by a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor, and 2GB of RAM powering the phone. This phone is also offered in two colors, but it doesn’t feature rear buttons or a fingerprint sensor. The specifications of the phone are quite like the LG’s newly launched X5 model in South Korea.
No details about price or exact specifications have yet been revealed by LG, and the launch date for the models is still unclear, although both the devices will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow preinstalled. The only model launched in North America is the LG X power, and the availability of the device is still limited to Canada.
