Moto Z Force Droid Edition Launching July 14th, on Verizon

As Lenovo mentioned at their Lenovo Tech World event in June, the Moto Z Force is going to be exclusive to Verizon, and exclusive to the US. The Moto Z Force is their slightly thicker smartphone in the Moto Z lineup, and that is due to the larger battery as well as the shatterproof display. Lenovo also mentioned that both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force would launch exclusively at Verizon as a “Droid Edition” this summer, before being available elsewhere in September. Of course, only the Moto Z is going to be available elsewhere.

It appears that the launch date for the Moto Z Force Droid Edition is nearing, as Motorola and Verizon have just sent out invites to a July 14th event in New York City, where they will be showcasing the Moto Z Force Droid Edition. It’s unlikely that we will see any new smartphones debut at this event, this is likely just an event to celebrate the launch of the new smartphone from Motorola. It’s likely that the company will finally announce pricing and availability – at least for Verizon – of the two devices, as well as Moto Mods.

For those that may be unaware of what Moto Mods are, they are modules that can be attached to the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force. So yes, these two are modular smartphones, and they will be sold separately. Some of the Moto Mods that Motorola showed off at the Lenovo Tech World included a set of speakers from JBL, a battery pack from Incipio, and a Pico Projector. Allowing you to project the contents of the screen on your Moto Z or Moto Z Force onto the wall. Great for showing everyone a video or pictures or something else. As far as specs go, the Moto Z Force sports a 5.5-inch 2560×1440 resolution display, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage with a micro SD card slot, a 21MP camera around back with a 8MP camera on the front, there’s also a non-removable 3500mAh battery and no 3.5mm headphone jack.
