The same cycle seems to be repeating itself this year and the upcoming Galaxy Note is poised to launch this year towards the end of the Summer, just as last year’s Galaxy Note 5 did. While the upcoming Galaxy Note is said to skip the number 6 and jump straight to 7 to line up with the Galaxy S line, the device will still be a direct upgrade from the Galaxy Note 5. However, more and more leaks are appearing to suggest that this year’s Galaxy Note is going to be quite the improvement over previous iterations. Recently, we saw the Galaxy Note 7 appear in some of the clearest renders yet, and now, we’re hearing about some more features that might be included, such as a redesigned S-Pen and more features of the rumored Iris scanner.
According to Indian site iGyaan, who have apparently gotten their hands on an internal memo from Samsung, the S-Pen is to be redesigned with the Galaxy Note 7. Apparently, the S-Pen is to get a physical redesign as well as much-improved sensitivity and proximity registering. This would help to make the overall note-taking experience on the Galaxy Note 7 not only a lot more accurate but also quicker, too. The AirView window is set to get a few more tricks up its sleeve and the always-on note-taking ability of the Galaxy Note 5 is to be improved with the possible inclusion of a new memo app altogether. AirView is set to gain auto-translation features as well as a new feature to trigger a text-to-speech feature as well.
The Iris scanner, a feature that the Galaxy Note 7 has long been rumored to be launching with, is also supposed to be able to lock apps behind the user’s own eye identification. The Iris scanner will also be able to lock chosen files, folders and documents behind this new feature as well, further keeping data of the user nice and secure. On top of all of this, iGyaan’s internal memo seems to confirm some of the specs that it’s set to be launching with, such as the 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Regardless of whether or not iGyaan actually has gotten their hands on such a memo, the Galaxy Note 7 is fast approaching, and so far it appears to be shaping up quite nicely.
