Earlier this week, a render for one of the upcoming Nexus devices from HTC, surfaced. Many weren’t too happy with the render. For the most part, this was due to the fact that the “visor” that the Nexus 6P debuted last year, had grown t take up almost half of the backside of this new Nexus device, which is codenamed “Sailfish”. The render that appeared earlier this week was in black. However, a user from Reddit has made this device available in four new colors.
We have a dark gray, another color that would probably be called “aluminum”, then white and red. Most people are liking the red colored Nexus render here. As it really does “pop”. Many loved the Nexus 5 in red, from a few years ago, so this should come as no surprise. And in typical Nexus fashion, the back and sides are in color, while the front of the device stays black. We’ve seen this before with just about every Nexus device that has been available in multiple colors. Like the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Nexus 4 and even the Galaxy Nexus. Now keep in mind here that these are fan renders, and not actual press images from Google. While many would love to have the upcoming Nexus available in these colors, whether they actually will be is another story.
As a refresher here, the Sailfish device is going to sport a 5-inch 1080p display. It’ll also run on a quad-core 2.0GHz processor, with 4GB of RAM, a 2770mAh battery with 32GB of storage. Of course, as this is a Nexus device, there is no micro SD card slot included. On the camera side of things, we’re looking at a 12-megapixel sensor around back and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Google is also sticking with the fingerprint sensor being on the back of the device, and a USB Type-C port on the bottom. Luckily, Google is keeping the headphone jack here on this Nexus device, unlike Motorola with their new Moto Z and Moto Z Force. The specs here are pretty respectable, and pretty much what you’d expect for the fall of 2016.
