The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is quite probably the most talked-about smartphone at the moment. Samsung’s newest phablet was introduced about a week ago in New York, and technology news sites have been going crazy with its coverage ever since, while Samsung has been releasing new info after they introduced the Galaxy Note 7. The Galaxy Note 7 is basically a refined Galaxy Note 5, but also a combination between the Galaxy Note 7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge considering it sports the Dual Edge display, and it’s made out of the same materials as the Galaxy S7 (Edge).
That being said, the Galaxy Note 7 was announced with a number of new features, and also some refined ones we’ve already seen in the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. A great example of that is the phone’s ‘Always On Display’ functionality. Now, the Always On Display on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge was somewhat limited in terms of functionality, it did not support third-party applications, only the company’s built-in ones, like their very own SMS app and the S Planner, amongst others. Well, that’s not the case on the Galaxy Note 7 it seems, the company had released some more info regarding the Galaxy Note 7’s Always On functionality, and it seems like this phablet comes with Always On Display v1.7.12 out of the box, and actually supports third-party apps, which is great, and quite useful at the same time.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 features a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Dual Edge Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage. As far as its SoC goes, you’ll get either the Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890, it all depends on where you purchase the device. The 12-megapixel Dual Pixel camera is placed on the back of the Note 7, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed with the company’s Grace UX UI. The 3,500mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable, while the phone comes with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
