While the Galaxy Note 7 from Samsung seems to be getting most of the smartphone attention lately, there is another smartphone on the horizon and one which is due to the be released soon from a familiar competitor to Samsung, LG. This is of course, the follow up to the LG V10, the LG V20. As such, the last couple of weeks has seen the intensity of the rumors, speculation and leaks about the LG V20 building and the next snippet of information has now come through and directly from LG.
A couple of days ago LG released a teaser for the V20 which clearly highlighted that the smartphone would come packing some additional audio capabilities and now more details on those capabilities are confirmed as LG has today announced that they are teaming up with B&O PLAY for with the LG V20. That said, the announcement on the collaboration does not actually reveal too much in the way of what to expect from the inclusion of B&O PLAY features on the V20, other than noting that the two companies have “worked closely together to bring the best sound to users by optimizing the audio capabilities of the V20 smartphone.” Although, the announcement does detail that to “enhance the total experience” the LG V20 will come packaged with “a special pair of B&O PLAY earphones”. As well as the inclusion of a number of wallpapers which have been specifically designed designed for the V20.
Of course, this is not the first time that the two companies have teamed up during the release of an LG flagship smartphone as a similar announcement came through for the LG G5 just before its launch. So this does seem to be building on the relationship that the two companies have already struck up. In terms of the rest of the specs, little is still known about the LG V20, although it is confirmed that this will be the first smartphone to be released which ships with Android 7.0 (Nougat) out of the box. Although, now you can include B&O PLAY optimizations and earphones to that confirmed list.
