Phablet devices have managed to become extremely powerful in the last couple of years. Many people would say that Samsung’s Galaxy Note devices are responsible for this, and they quite probably are, at least to some extent. The first-gen Galaxy Note sported a 5.3-inch display, and was considered to be huge back in the day, and today we’re seeing 6.8-inch smartphones / phablets, which only shows how comfortable people have become when it comes to huge devices. That being said, it seems like Meizu might introduce a phablet handset soon, read on.
Meizu is still one of the fastest-growing smartphone manufacturers in China, this company had introduced their new Meizu U10 and U20 smartphones a couple of days ago, and it seems like they intend on announcing yet another device before the rumored Meizu PRO 7 arrives. The device in question is called the Meizu Max, and it’s expected to arrive on September 5th. The company has released a couple of official Meizu Max teasers, while they’ve also sent out invites for its launch event. The device, as already mentioned, will be introduced on September 5th in China, and it seems like we’re looking at the company’s new phablet here, even though the company’s official invitation is somewhat confusing. As you can see in the images down below, the company sent out an old Nokia device (its mockup, that is) with a full QWERTY keyboard on it in order to invite people to Meizu Max’s announcement event.
Do keep in mind that Meizu did not confirm this will be a phablet, but based on its name, it sure seems like it. This company had introduced quite a few smartphones in the last couple of years, but only one handset which sported a display larger than 5.5 inches, the Meizu PRO 5. That handset shipped with a 5.7-inch display, and rumors suggest that the upcoming Meizu PRO 7 might sport such a display as well, though it will probably be curved. In any case, the Meizu Max is expected to cost 1,499 Yuan ($225) in China, and will, allegedly, ship with a similar design to the recently introduced Meizu ‘U’ devices, which means you can expect to see glass both on its front and back side. We still don’t have any info regarding Meizu Max’s specifications, stay tuned though, chances are something will pop up soon.
