The Meizu PRO 6 is the company’s current flagship. This smartphone was introduced back in April, and it really failed to impress, mostly because it was not exactly a big step up over the PRO 5 phablet which was introduced back in September last year. Meizu fans have been waiting for Meizu to share more details regarding the Exynos 8890-powered Meizu flagship which is expected to land in the coming weeks (the so-called Meizu PRO 7), and even though the company is not really saying anything, we’ve seen quite a few rumors and leaks thus far. If rumors are to be believed, this handset will sport a curved display up front, much like the one that you’ll find in the Galaxy S7 Edge and the Galaxy Note 7. On top of it all, it is said to really nice set of specs, which we’ll talk about soon, let’s first check out the new leak that just surfaced, read on.
A new Meizu PRO 7 leak, or Meizu PRO 6 Plus as some people call it, just surfaced. These two renders that you can check out in the gallery down below, are actually quite revealing. Now, you can clearly see the curved display on the front, and the lack of bezels on the side because of it. The company’s mBack physical home key will once again be located below the display, though it seems like it might be smaller than usual. Both the power / lock and volume rocker physical keys will be placed on the right-hand side of the Meizu PRO 7, and the device’s bezels on top and bottom will also be quite minimal it seems. Looking at the phone’s back, you’ll notice the main camera, which is said to sport a 12-megapixel sensor on the inside. Now, the odd thing here is the lens below the main camera, it actually seems like the PRO 7 sports a secondary camera in-between the main shooter and the LED flash. We cannot confirm this, but this sensor seems to be smaller, so it might be used for depth perception or something of the sort. We’re only guessing at this point though, so keep that in mind. The phone’s antennas are well hidden on the top and bottom of the phone’s back, even better than they were in the PRO 6.
Some people think that this device will be called the PRO 6 Plus, though this render reports otherwise. If you take a look at the text in the lower portion of the phone’s back, you’ll notice that it says PRO 7, not PRO 6 Plus. The device is also said to sport (according to AnTuTu) a QHD display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (though a 6GB RAM variant is also a possibility). The 5-megapixel camera will be placed on its front side, and we still don’t know how large will its display be, but it is possible it will be identical to the one on the PRO 7 in terms of size, which means we can expect a 5.7-inch panel here. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on the PRO 7, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Meizu’s Flyme UI. The device is expected to launch on September 3rd, so stay tuned.
