OPPO is one of the largest China-based smartphone manufacturers. This company had managed to sell 50 million smartphones last year, and by doing so, they’ve actually managed to surprise quite a few people in the industry. OPPO is a region specific company (for now), so these numbers are quite staggering. Now, many people have been wondering if OPPO will be able to keep it up, and it seems like they’re still pushing strong, according to the latest Q2 Chinese market details, OPPO is actually the 2nd largest Chinese smartphone company as far as Q2 sales go.
This company had introduced a number of devices this year, including the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus handsets which seem to be the most popular OPPO-branded smartphones at the moment, just like their predecessors were. These two devices were introduced back in March this year, and it seems like OPPO is planning to release yet another OPPO R9-branded smartphone, the OPPO R9s. This smartphone just got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), and thanks to that listing we get to take a closer look at the design of the device, as well as its partial specifications. Based on the images provided by TENAA, the Oppo R9s will look identical to the OPPO R9. This will be a metal-clad smartphone with a physical home button below the display, and that home button will double as a fingerprint scanner. Its camera will be placed in the upper left corner of the phone’s back, and as you can see, OPPO’s branding is located on the back as well.
Now, considering only partial listing surfaced, we cannot know what specs exactly will the OPPO R9s ship with, but based on the provided info, this device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core SoC, which should not only provide more power to the device compared to the regular OPPO R9, but this SoC is supposed to be really power efficient as well thanks to its 14nm architecture. The Adreno 506 GPU is here for graphics rendering, while the device will also come with support for OPPO’s VOOC Fast Charge. This handset is expected to land soon, so stay tuned for that.
