Players Complain Updating Pokemon GO Resets the Game

Last Saturday Niantic brought the new update to it’s latest game, Pokemon GO, with new improvements, features, and minor bug fixes. The new update v0.31.0 brings new feature which allows the players to re-customize their Avatars from the trainer profile screen at any point in the game. Before the update, players were only allowed to pick the Avatar at the beginning of the game, meaning players were unable to customize their Avatars in the middle of the game. The update has adjusted the battle move damage values for some Pokemon and modified the battle damage calculation in Gym battles. The update also refined certain Gym animations, improved memory issues, updated the Pokemon details screen and fixed the bugs during wild Pokemon encounters. The new update also allows the players to lock their favorite Pokemon from transferring them accidentally. This update also includes some security-related warnings in the game like “don’t drive” and “do not trespass while playing Pokemon GO”, because of so many accidents happening recently while playing Pokemon GO.

However, this is not the only side of the game update, the new game update has some drawbacks too which leads some players to start the game from the very beginning. After updating the game to v0.31.0, many players have reported that the new update has erased all their in-game progress forcing them to start the game from the beginning. Some players have also reported that after reaching level 20, they had to restart the game from level 1 because of the new update. The players who had faced this issues are already complaining to the company to either return the money they have spent on the game or reverse back all the game progress.

The new game update has also removed the footprints of nearby Pokemon, which informed the player about the estimated distance of that Pokemon from their location. While other players are struggling to play the game from the very beginning some players have reported being able to fix this issue and get back their in-game progress of Pokemon GO by using an alternative email to sign into the game.
