There are tons of Galaxy-branded smartphones available out in the market at the moment. Samsung had introduced quite a few such Android-powered smartphones this year, including the Galaxy C5 smartphone which was introduced back in May. By releasing this smartphone, Samsung had basically unveiled a whole new line of devices, the ‘Galaxy C’ lineup. The Galaxy C5 is actually quite a capable smartphone, it sports a 5.2-inch fullHD Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and it is fueled by the Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor. That being said, it seems like Samsung is planning to release yet another smartphone as part of the ‘Galaxy C’ line of devices, read on.
According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung is currently working on a new Galaxy C smartphone codenamed ‘Amy’. SamMobile’s sources say that this handset will be called the Galaxy C9, and that it will ship with the SM-C9000 model number. The Galaxy C9 is actually expected to match Galaxy C5’s specs, if not ship with a better set of specs. Now, do keep in mind that the Galaxy C series of devices is exclusive to China (hence the ‘C’), and it will not be available anywhere else. Now, taking Samsung’s other devices into account, the Galaxy C9 might be the company’s phablet and ship with a 6-inch panel. The Galaxy A9 actually comes with such a display, and by some logic, the Galaxy C9 should sport a similar display to the Galaxy A9, and launch as a phablet device. Now, we do not have any other info regarding the Galaxy C9 at the moment, but chances are that the device will also come with 4GB of RAM, and a mid-range processor, quite probably manufactured by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 617 and Snapdragon 625 are certainly two possibilities.
There you have it, Samsung will introduce yet another metal-clad, mid-range smartphone soon, at least according to the provided info. We do not know when will the company officially release this smartphone, but chances are we’ll see more details about it before it launches, as it has to go through TENAA’s (China’s equivalent to the FCC) certification process. In any case, stay tuned.
