The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was Samsung’s flagship phablet for 2015. That handset was selling extremely well, and it was hard to imagine that its successor might completely crush its sales numbers. Well, the Galaxy Note 7 was introduced earlier this month, and the initial reactions were really good, to say the least. The Head of Samsung Mobile recently said that they expect the Galaxy Note 7 to outsell its predecessor, and the initial pre-order numbers in South Korea are off the charts, it seems like Galaxy Note 7 pre-orders doubled basically (compared to the Galaxy Note 5).
That being said, a new report has just surfaced, courtesy of Korea Herald. According to this report, Samsung is aggressively diversifying its range of suppliers, and is doing that for one specific cause, to meet the demand for the Galaxy Note 7. Samsung is said to manufacture an average of three million Galaxy Note 7 handsets in the third quarter of this year, and the company is looking to make this device their best selling phablet ever. Now, to give you an example of Samsung’s plans, the iris sensor is said to be delegated to any of the ten companies Samsung is currently in talks with, while Patron is currently the only supplier. Needless to say, Patron might have issues supplying three million iris scanner per month, so Samsung is reportedly looking for additional suppliers in order to meet the demand. This is only one example of Samsung’s new strategy, and truth be told, it sounds like a decent plan, that’s for sure. We will, of course, have to wait in order to see how well will the Galaxy Note 7 sell, and how well will Samsung’s let’s-keep-the-device-in-stock plan work.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is made out of metal and glass. The device sports a 5.7-inch QHD Dual Edge Super AMOLED display up front, while it also packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 SoC, depending on where you purchase it. The 12-megapixel Dual Pixel snapper can be found on its back, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the device with Samsung’s custom UI.
