Samsung Expects Galaxy Note 7 To Outsell Its Predecessor

Samsung had introduced the Galaxy Note 7 two days ago in New York. This is the company’s latest flagship, a 5.7-inch phablet which does resemble its predecessor quite a bit, but unlike the Galaxy Note 5, it sports a ‘Dual Edge’ display up front, and it, of course, comes with a slightly altered design, improved specs, and a whole set of new features. The Galaxy Note 7 is almost guaranteed to sell well, pretty much every single one of its predecessors had great sales numbers, and the company’s two flagship smartphones (Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge) are selling like crazy this year.

That being said, an analyst at Hyundai Securities, Kim Dong-won, predicted the other day that Samsung might ship 12 million Galaxy Note 7 units before the end of this year. Now, we’ll see how accurate is this prediction at the end of this year, but it seems like Samsung is also quite optimistic. The Head of Samsung Mobile, Koh Dong-jin, has shared some interesting remarks during a press conference in South Korea. Mr. Dong-jin said that the company expects the Galaxy Note 7 to outsell the Galaxy Note 5, but he did not share any specific sales target, at least not for now. As already mentioned, Samsung had managed to sell quite a few Galaxy Note 5 units thus far, and even though that might be hard to beat, pretty much everyone is expecting for the Galaxy Note 7 to do better. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are almost certainly going to outsell their predecessors, and we’re almost certain that the same will happen with the company’s all-new phablet.

The Galaxy Note 7 sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Dual Edge Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by either the Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 SoC (depending on the market), and a 3,500mAh battery is also a part of this package. The 12-megapixel ‘Dual Pixel’ shooter is placed on the back of this phablet, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the device, along with the company’s custom UI. The Galaxy Note 7 is made out of metal and glass, much like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, and the improved S Pen is also included in this package.
