Samsung's Galaxy Tab S3 Officially Releases Next Month

Samsung has recently confirmed the upcoming Galaxy Tab S3 tablet for release next month, having stated back on July 22nd that they would be setting up the Galaxy Tab S3 for a launch in September. It was rumored just a couple of days prior to Samsung’s official announcement that the tablet would launch next month, so this may not come as a total surprise. In their post, Samsung mentions that their planned release of the Galaxy Tab S3 is set to match up with the European launch of the Galaxy Note 7 which happens on September 2nd, and is also right after the timing of their IFA press conference.

With the release set up for the 2nd of next month, it’s quite likely that Samsung will have the tablet on display during IFA, where they’re also set to announce the new Gear S3 smartwatch. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S3 is likely to come in both the 9.7-inch size as well as the smaller 8-inch model. Samsung has not officially announced any specifications for the Galaxy Tab S3 just yet, although they did mention that the tablet will come with a better processor than the Galaxy Tab S2 inside, and have some innovative features that weren’t available on previous Galaxy Tab S tablets. What those innovations are is still unclear.

Although Samsung hasn’t detailed any specs themselves, the 8-inch model of the Galaxy Tab S3 was certified by TENNA earlier this year at which time some of the specs for that particular model had also been revealed. Based on that TENNA certification the Galaxy Tab S3 8-inch model comes powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 CPU which is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space, supported by expandable storage space up to 128GB via microSD. The screen size will of course be 8-inches and will feature a resolution of 2048 x 1536. It will also come with a 4,000 mAh battery on the inside and carry an 8MP camera on the back of the device while a 2MP camera sits up front for selfies and video chatting. The Galaxy Tab S3 will also come running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box when Samsung launches it.
