Over a week ago, several other Canadian carriers started taking pre-orders for new Samsung Galaxy Note 7, most offering some sort of ‘prize’ to encourage early buying. It looks like Telus has joined that group today and if you place a pre-order, you will get a free Samsung Gear Fit2 Activity Tracker – a $250 list value. Telus is offering the Note 7 it in Black Onyx and Silver Titanium with prices starting from $560, if you sign up for a two-year premium smartphone plan starting at $80 per month or $1060 on a no-term. This is not a bad incentive to pre-order as you will receive a $250 Gear Fit2 and if you are not the athletic type, it will always make a great gift.
The differences between the pre-order freebies – with the purchase of the Galaxy Note 7 on Rogers, you get a choice of Blue Coral, Silver Titanium, and Black Onyx at $559.00 on a two-year contract or $1050 no-term – you can choose between the Gear Fit2 or the Samsung Level Pro Box wireless speaker. While supplies last, you will also receive a 64GB microSD card. Bell offers the same colors as Rogers and have the Note 7 priced at $549.99 on a two-year contract and $1049.99 no-term. Bell is offering the same choice of freebies as Rogers. Videotron has a low price of $279.95 on contract and $1059.95 no-term. They are also offering the Gear Fit2 or the Level Box Pro. Many of the other carriers are offering the freebies if you check out their websites.
The new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is the complete package as it comes with a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and 515 pixels-per-inch. In the US and Canada, it uses the new Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor with dual cores clocked at 1.6 GHz and dual cores clocked at 2.15 GHz. It uses the new Adreno 530 GPU for heavy duty graphics. It packs 4GB of the DDR4 RAM and 64GB of the faster UFS 2.0 internal memory, which this year can be expanded via a microSD card. It also uses the same great Dual Pixel 12-megapixel camera found on the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge with a f/1.7 aperture, OIS, a fast phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and LED flash. The front-facing camera is a 5-megapixel for selfies and video chatting. It uses a 3,500 mAh non-removable battery with rapid charge and quick wireless charging.
