Xiaomi had managed to sell around 70 million smartphones last year, and their best selling devices overall are the ‘Redmi’ branded units. These are Xiaomi’s budget offerings, and the company had sold over 110 million such units to this day. The Redmi 3 was introduced back in January this year, and its successor, the Redmi 4, has been leaking like crazy over the last couple of weeks. We have seen its pricing leaked, the device itself surfaced yesterday, and even its release date popped up. The phone is said to launch on August 25th, though the company still did not confirm that info.
That being said, the Redmi 4 has just surfaced on TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), which essentially means that it is now certified in China, and that is one of the last steps before it gets announced, so the August 25th date might even pan out. Now, thanks to this listing, we now know Redmi 4’s specs, even though the images of the device were not shared by TENAA. According to the listing, the Redmi 4 will sport a 5-inch fullHD display, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 625 14nm 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.8GHz, while the Adreno 506 GPU will be here for graphics rendering. The 13-megapixel shooter will be placed on the back of the Xiaomi Redmi 4, while a 5-megapixel shooter will be available on the device’s front side. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on the device, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Xiaomi’s Android-based MIUI 8 OS.
TENAA’s listing says that the device will be available in Gold color option only, though chances are Xiaomi will offer this device in a number of color variants. The 4,000mAh battery will also be included here, and 4G LTE connectivity will also be a part of the package, of course. The Redmi 4 will measure 141.3 x 69.6 x 8.9mm, while it will weight 160 grams. The device will sport three capacitive buttons below the display, just like its predecessor, and if you click here, you’ll be able to see its recently leaked design.
