Xiaomi Redmi 4 Images New, No Physical Home Key In Sight

Xiaomi’s ‘Redmi’ devices have been quite popular in the last couple of years, the company had managed to sell over 110 million ‘Redmi’ units to this day. They have introduced the Redmi 3, Redmi 3s, Redmi 3s Prime, Redmi Pro, Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3 Pro and Redmi 3x smartphones this year. As you can see, Xiaomi is releasing Redmi-branded smartphones like crazy, and it seems like yet another such phone will land really soon, the Redmi 4. This smartphone is a direct successor to the Redmi 3 which was introduced back in January, and we’ve already seen some leaked info when it comes to this phone. As it usually goes with rumors / leaks though, a new piece of info just surfaced, read on.

Four real life images of the Redmi 4 leaked the other day along with the phone’s partial specs, and now we get to see two additional shots of this device, which more or less reveal the design of the phone’s front and back side. As you can see, the Redmi 4 will be made out of metal, and it will sport a 2.5D curved glass on top of its display. The fingerprint scanner will be placed on the back of this smartphone, and three capacitive buttons will be located below the phone’s display, menu, home and back, respectively. This basically means that the Redmi 4 will not differentiate from the company’s previous offerings, we’ve seen similar devices released by Xiaomi quite a few times now, and that actually includes the Redmi 3.

So, what about its specs? Well, if a recent leak is to believed, the Redmi 4 will ship with the Helio P10 64-bit octa-core SoC from MediaTek, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the device, while you’ll be able to find the MIUI 8 OS on top of it. The phone’s physical keys will be placed on the right side of the phone, while you’ll be able to find the SIM tray on the left. That’s pretty much all the info we have for now, we do expect the phone to cost around $100, and to launch in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
