Xiaomi is, at this point, a very well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer. This company has been founded back in 2010, and despite the fact they’re only 6 years old, they’ve managed to become one of the largest companies in Asia. Xiaomi managed to attract attention to themselves by releasing affordable, well-built devices which actually sport solid specs. The company had introduced a number of such devices in the last year or so, including the Redmi 3, Redmi 3s, Redmi 3x and Redmi Pro models. Xiaomi managed to sell over 110 million ‘Redmi’ devices up to this point, and they plan to introduce yet another ‘Redmi’ smartphone in the coming weeks, the Redmi 4.
We’ve seen quite a few rumors regarding the Redmi 4, and the actual device just leaked in China. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see the alleged Redmi 4 in the flesh. As you can see, the phone is made out of metal, and it should succeed the Redmi 3 which was announced back in January this year. These images reveal that the Redmi 4 will sport a bottom-firing set of speakers, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. Both its power / lock and volume rocker keys will be placed on the right, while the SIM tray will be located on the left. The phone will, according to the leaked info, ship with MediaTek’s Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on the Redmi 4, and on top of it, you’ll get Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 OS.
All in all, this seems like a more than a decent package, metal build and more than decent specs for 699 Yuan ($106), seems more than fair, right? The phone will likely cost around $100, and you’ll hardly find a better package for that amount of money, but do keep in mind that these details are not confirmed just yet, we’ll have to wait for Xiaomi to introduce their new budget offering. We still don’t know when will the company unveil the Redmi 4, but chances are it will happen in the coming weeks, so stay tuned, we’ll report back soon.
