After months of leaked renders and specs, the wait for it is over. Xiaomi has finally revealed its latest handset, the flagship of the Redmi series, the Redmi Pro. The device packs top of the line specs and with many firsts for Xiaomi, so lets dive into the specs of this device.

For starters, the Redmi Pro sports a 5.5-inch full HD OLED display, which makes the Redmi Pro to be the first Xiaomi device to feature an OLED display. The display has a super-high contrast ratio of 60,000:1 and can display 100% of the NTSC colour gamut. Inside, the Redmi Pro packs a 2.5GHz MediaTek Helio X25 deca-core processor while the base version will be powered by a 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor. For memory and storage, the device will come with two choices, either 3 GB of RAM or 4GB of RAM, and storage options of 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB. Xiaomi has also hit another first with the optics here, as the  Redmi Pro is the first smartphone by Xiaomi to feature a dual-camera setup around the back. The main rear-facing camera is a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor, and is supported by a secondary rear camera with a 5-megapixel sensor sourced from Samsung. The dual-camera setup works similarly to the one on the HTC One M8, the 13-megapixel camera will be used to capture still images while the 5-megapixel camera will capture depth information. With that, you can capture an image first and then proceed to adjust the depth of field later.

All the hardware is encased in a brushed metal unibody, including the large 4050 mAh non-removable battery which can be charged via the USB Type-C port. It also has a hybrid dual SIM slot, plus support for VoLTE. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner mounted on the front for added security. The handset will come in three colors, namely gold, grey and silver. It will also come in three storage variants, one with a Helio X20 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, another with a Helio X25 processor with 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage and finally one with a Helio X25 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
