Download: Gmail Update Brings New Graphic for Inbox Zero

Gmail is probably the most used email app and service on planet earth. Microsoft’s Exchange comes in a close second, due to the number of companies that use it for their own servers. But Gmail is very popular, and the team at Google that are assigned to work on their Android app are always working to make the app better for everyone. The latest update, landed in the Play Store this week, and it’s mostly a minor update to Gmail, but there are still some changes made here, mostly new graphics.

There are two new graphics that appear in Gmail now. One is for when you clean out your inbox and get to the infamous “Inbox Zero”. The other is for when you clean out your spam folder, which for most people is likely never cleaned out. The official changelog from the Gmail team does note that you can get search results faster both online and offline now. This even works with your non-Google accounts. The app has also made it easier to add a new account, seeing as many of us have multiple email accounts, this is going to be a pretty big deal for most people. Finally, the changelog says that there are bug fixes and performance improvements in the update as well. Which everyone has come to expect to be part of every update to an app these days.

Gmail has come a long way since it debuted on Android all those years ago. It does still have quite a ways to go, however. And the Gmail team is always working on making it better and better. While this update may seem like a pretty small one for most people, these changes are going to be important for some others. Especially those that have plenty of email accounts they need to check. Now the update is available in the Google Play Store, and is in a staged rollout. However, if you don’t want to wait for that to happen, you can hit up the download link below and simply side-load the APK onto your smartphone. Quickly and easily.
