Android 7.0 Nougat is the latest update to Google’s Android operating system. Google first talked about this update back in May during Google I/O, and the company had started rolling out this update late last month. The Android 7.0 Nougat is currently available for a couple of Nexus devices, and it will come pre-installed on the LG V20 as soon as the device becomes available for purchase. This update actually brings tons of new features to the table, and improves upon some features that were already included in Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
One of the aforementioned features is definitely ‘multi-window’, which is a feature that has been available on Samsung’s and LG’s devices for quite some time now. Well, that feature is now available natively in Android 7.0 Nougat, though not all apps are supported. Well, there’s a fix for that, sort of, there’s a way for you to run apps that are not supported, as long as you’re running Android 7.0 Nougat. The procedure is not complicated at all, quite on the contrary, it’s quite easy to enable this considering Google baked it in the OS and it can be accessed through the Developer Options menu. Some of you probably already know how to enable Developer Options on Android, but for those of you who do not, we’ll go through the whole procedure of enabling all apps to be compatible with Nougat’s multi-window feature, read on.
First and foremost, you need to enable Developer Options on your smartphone which runs Android 7.0 Nougat. Go to your ‘Settings’, and navigate to ‘About phone’. Once you tap on ‘About phone’, locate ‘Build number’ and tap on it seven times, after you’re done, hit the back button. Now that you’re back in ‘Settings’, you need to scroll down and track down the ‘Developer Options’ menu. Once you access ‘Developer Options’, you’ll need to activate the ‘Force activities to be resizable’ toggle, and after you’re done, reboot your device. There you go, now you can run basically any app in the multi-window mode (like Pokemon GO for example), though do keep in mind that some apps my struggle, as they’re not optimized for the multi-window mode.
