Nubia Z11, the latest flagship smartphone from the company, was announced earlier this year. The phone boasts high-end specs and comes with a rather nifty design, but was originally available in only a couple of colors – Silver and Grey. That now promises to be a thing of the past with the announcement of the ‘Black Gold Edition’ of the device that has reportedly already gone on sale in China. The new option was introduced last week at the IFA trade show in the German city of Berlin, and what we now have are a few live images of the new device, which comes with much the same hardware specs as the existing models apart from one crucial area.
The new option, apparently, will come with 6GB of RAM instead of the 4GB that’s found on the silver and grey models. The Black Gold Edition is also expected to come with 64GB of internal storage, and although the standard issue 4GB model also comes in a 128GB avatar, there’s no word at the moment on whether the Black Gold Edition buyers will also have that option to choose from. The increased RAM will unfortunately also reflect on the device’s pricing, and while the standard 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model was launched at 2499 Yuan ($376) back in June, the all-new version comes with a price-tag of 2,999 Yuan ($449). The company is also selling a bundled pack for 3199 Yuan ($479) that includes a Nubia power pack, a leather protective cover and a self-timer lever alongside the device itself.
As for the rest of the hardware specs on the Nubia Z11, they remain the same for the most part, including the 5.5-inch 1080p display panel, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip, the 16-megapixel camera (Sony’s IMX298 sensor) on the back and an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The smartphone also comes with a 3,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 thanks to the presence of Qualcomm’s latest-generation SoC. On the software front, the phone runs on Android 6.0.1 out of the box with Nubia UI 4.0 on top. As mentioned already, the phone reportedly went on sale in China, so buyers should be able to get their hands on their shiny new Nubia smartphones fairly soon.
