Leak: Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus Reportedly Boasts 3GB Of RAM

Lenovo’s Tab3 8 which was unveiled earlier this year, is apparently getting a “Plus” model with updated specs to give it a slightly more powerful build that offers more capability to users who may need it, according to a leak for the device. The leak, which includes a collection of images of the tablet in various colors, also reportedly includes details on the specifications of the tablet, which seem to be a boost over the standard model that Lenovo has already launched. This also appears to be the same tablet that was discovered in a leaked TENNA filing back in June. While the specs cannot yet be confirmed, one of the more notable changes to the Tab3 8 Plus is the bump in memory, as Lenovo appears to have added 3GB of RAM to this version of the 8-inch tablet while the original Tab3 8 only comes with 1GB of RAM.

That extra 2GB should be able to help users get the most out of the tablet and allow them to multitask a little better, if need be, and it should also help to improve the overall performance of the tablet in terms of helping it run smoothly. The Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus also reportedly comes equipped with a better resolution display, sporting a resolution of 1200 x 1920, and it’s said to come powered by a Qualcom Snapdragon 625 processor as opposed to the MediaTek chipset that was used in the standard Tab3 8.

As for the cameras, the Tab3 8 Plus is said to have a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chat, while the back carries an 8MP camera. The Tab3 8 only has a 5MP camera on the back, and a 2MP front-facing camera, and while not a massive increase in quality, the Tab3 8 Plus should help deliver some better quality images when the tablet is used to take photos. The tablet does apparently come with expandable storage space, with internal storage options set at 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB according to the leak. Standard connectivity features are seemingly included with Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi, and there is said to be an LTE model of the device as well for those who will want to use it more freely on the go. Inside, the Tab3 8 Plus is said to be carrying a 4,250mAh battery, and it’s stated to be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There is no mentioned time frame for a release, availability, or pricing of the Tab3 8 Plus, but it’s sure to be more than the $99/$149 price points of the Wi-Fi and LTE models of the Tab3 8.
