Lenovo is no stranger to the Android tablet business, and while they’ve been impressing us with their YOGA line of Android tablets for a few years now, their standard line of tablets are impressive for different reasons. Last year’s Lenovo TAB 2 was one of the cheapest Android tablets around, complete with Google Play Support, too. Now, Lenovo is following the TAB 2 up with their TAB3 line of Android tablets, in 7, 8 and 10-inch variants, including a Business model. With prices starting at just $79, these might not be the best tablets out there, but they should certainly offer users a hell of a lot of value.
Starting further down the line up, both the TAB3 7 and 8 will feature HD displays (which we’re assuming to be 1280 x 800 given their prices) Quad-Core processors clocked at 1.0 Ghz and 2GB of RAM. Again, these aren’t amazing specs or anything, but considering the TAB3 is $79 for WiFi or $129 for LTE with 16GB of storage these are high on value, not specs. With 2-megapixel front-facing cameras and 5-megapixel rear-facing cameras, neither of these will win you any awards, but will get the job done nonetheless. Both devices are designed for more casual or family use and features Kids’ mode applications as well as a built-in app to control the amount of blue light emitted by the display. Lenovo call this Adaptive Display Technology, we just call it a good idea. The Chinese giant is saying this will adjust the display settings depending on what the user is doing, as well as adjust sound. Speaking of which, every TAB3 model will feature Dolby Atmos technology for virtual surround sound over headphones. The TAB3 7 and 8 models features 7-inch and 8-inch displays, respectively and will be available starting this June from $79 for the TAB3 7 and $99 for the TAB3 8.
On to the TAB3 10 Business, and Lenovo has upped the specs a little bit here, adding a Full HD 10.1-inch display and a 1.3 Ghz Quad-Core CPU alongside 2GB of RAM. With 5-megapixel front-facing and 8-megapixel rear-facing cameras Lenovo says the TAB3 10 is designed for high-quality video conferencing around the work place. Lenovo is pretty serious about this being used in the work place, and have included Android for Work, as well as full USB on-the-go support including support for RJ45 connectors and everything else you can imagine. There’s IP52 splash protection here as well as dust-protection and Lenovo is promising something that will hold up to the sort of environments this will find itself in. Be it point-of-sale or Kiosk use it looks like Lenovo have a decent, affordable business option on their hands here. Price wise, the TAB3 10 will start from $199 and be available this June as well.
