LEGO Harry Potter Games Now Available from the Play Store

Many of you reading this might possibly be big Harry Potter fans, and if that’s the case then the upcoming movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is probably on your “to watch” list. Of course, there are eight other fantastic Harry Potter films that we can re-watch for the four millionth time whenever we want, but there’s nothing quite like playing through your favorite stories, is there? The LEGO game adaptations of famous franchises and their films have long been a favorite of gamers, but they’ve also appealed to non-gamers over the years as well, and there’s no doubt that the easy gameplay and fun graphics appeal to youngsters as well. For those looking to experience a trip down nostalgia avenue with both Harry Potter and LEGO, the Play Store has the two LEGO Harry Potter games available to download.

Both games are priced at $4.99 a piece, with the LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1 – 4 taking players through the events of the first four books and games, while LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5 – 7 take players through the last three books and the last four movies. It’s clear that there has been some graphical progression from the first game to the second, but neither of them are going to win any awards for their presentation on Android. The gameplay is, just as one might expect super-easy and generally good fun for all ages. There’s no voice acting or text to help guide players through the story here, which is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your outlook, and the controls have been modified from controllers to suit the touchscreens we’re used to.

Neither of these games are cheap, but given that these used to cost full price back in the day, we could perhaps be persuaded to forgive LEGO here. The first Play Store button will take you to LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1 – 4 and the second will take you to LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5 – 7 and below both are some screens from both of the games. While not the best games to hit Android in recent memory, these will appeal to LEGO fans as well as Harry Potter fans, and of course will take many of you on an innocent nostalgia trip back to the 00’s.
