MediaTek is one of the most popular mobile SoC manufacturers in the world. This company has been growing constantly as tons of companies use their mobile processors, mainly China-based companies though. MediaTek’s processors are still trailing behind both Qualcomm’s and Samsung’s offerings in terms of power, but the company’s chips have been improving constantly and are quite powerful at the moment, their Helio P10, Helio X20 and Helio X25 are quite capable and quite popular at the same time, not to mention that they’re quite affordable as well. That being said, it seems like the company has introduced some new SoCs for us to check out, read on.
The company has officially unveiled the Helio P20, Helio P25 and Helio X30 mobile SoCs according to the source. The first two chips belong in the upper-mid-range category of mobile processors, as they’re quite powerful, but not the most powerful offerings by the company. The Helio X30, on the other hand, is the company’s all-new flagship processor. Now, UMi had confirmed the other day that the Helio P20 will fuel their upcoming UMi Plus Extreme smartphone, which more or less confirmed that the chip is coming, and the Helio X30 has been rumored for quite some time now, while MediaTek already talked about this chip last month. The Helio P20 and Helio P25 SoC will be made using the 16nm process, while they will support LPDDR4 RAM. These two chips will sport eight cores on the inside, and the Helio P25 will offer support for dual camera setups with optical zoom.
The Helio X30, on the other hand, will be made using TSMC’s 10nm process, and we’re looking at a deca-core processor here. The Helio X30 will sport the tri-cluster architecture that we’ve already seen utilized on the Helio X20 and Helio X25, this SoC will ship with two Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.8GHz, four Cortex-A53 cores running at 2.2GHz and four Cortex-A35 cores tuned to 2.0GHz. This SoC will also pack in the PowerVR 7XTP-MT4 GPU which is running at 850MHz. The Helio X30 will offer support for up to 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 4K video capture at 30 FPS and the Category 10 4G LTE.
