Moto Offers Free Moto Mods With New Moto Z Devices

Earlier this year, Lenovo unveiled the Moto Z series of smartphones. While their specifications are impressive and on par with other high-end flagships, the feature that really makes these devices stand out is modularity. The company has released a series of add-ons for the phone called Moto Mods, which snap on to the back of the device and add a variety of capabilities, such as extended battery life, improved camera performance, and even a projector that will display the phone’s screen over a flat surface. While these Moto Mods can greatly enhance the functionality of the devices, they can be a bit pricey. Fortunately, there is now a way to get select Moto Mods for free with new device purchases.

Although Best Buy has been offering Moto Mod promotions with the purchase of new devices since launch, these new offers are available through the official Motorola website, meaning that buyers can use the MotoMaker to customize the devices to their liking. To take advantage of the discount, you simply need to enter the applicable coupon code upon checkout. The Moto Z will come with a free Incipio OffGrid Power Pack (a $59.99 value), which claims to provide power to your device for up to an additional twenty hours, and can be claimed with the coupon code “MOTOZPOWER”. The Moto Z Force Droid Edition will be accompanied by the JBL SoundBoost Moto Mod (a $79.99 value), which has its own kickstand and built-in high-quality dual speakers to take your music to the next level. This Moto Mod can be claimed by using the promotional code “MOTOSOUND” at checkout.

The Moto Z surprised fans earlier this year by leaving out the 3.5 mm headphone jack, however, its omission meant that the device could be thinner, which is particularly important for the Moto Z. Because Moto Mods snap on to the back of the device and add thickness, this helps maintain a slim form factor so that the Moto Z can still fit in your pocket easily, even with certain Moto Mods attached. Aside from modularity, the device also boasts an attractive metal design, a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 AMOLED display, 4 GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The Moto Z Droid Edition and Moto Z Force Droid Edition sell for $624 and $720 respectively and are available exclusively on Verizon Wireless.
