OPPO A59s Stops By TENAA With A Metal Body & 3GB Of RAM

OPPO is now one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in China. This company had shipped to sell 50 million smartphones last year, which managed to surprise quite a few people, not to mention that their sales numbers are above expectations this year as well. OPPO was the second-largest smartphone manufacturer in China in the first half of this year, it managed to outsell Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi… and a number of other companies, while only Huawei managed to sell more devices than OPPO.

That being said, the company’s OPPO R9 and R9 Plus smartphones which were introduced earlier this year are selling really well in China, and might even outsell their predecessors, the OPPO R7 and R7 Plus. Some of you might remember the OPPO A59 handset which was introduced back in June. This is essentially OPPO’s mid-range offering, though its specifications are quite compelling. Well, the phone has been available for purchase in China for quite some time now, and it seems like a more powerful variant is coming as well. The OPPO A59s has been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), and it comes with a slightly more powerful set of specs. This smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM, while the original sported ‘only’ 3GB of RAM. The phone’s internal storage remains unchanged, as the phone will ship with 32GB of native storage, which you’ll be able to expand using a microSD card. The 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 1.5GHz will fuel this smartphone, quite probably MediaTek’s MT6750 SoC. The 13-megapixel shooter comes on the back of this smartphone, and a 16-megapixel snapper can be found on its front side.

The home button is placed below the phone’s display, and it doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The 2,980mAh battery is also a part of this package, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with OPPO’s custom UI on top of it. The phone measures 154.5 x 76 x 7.38mm, while it weighs 160 grams. The company will, quite probably, introduce this smartphone in China soon, and its design seems to be identical to the original model, you do get a metallic body here, and the phone itself resembles previous OPPO-branded devices.
