Quite A Few Xiaomi Mi 5s Camera Samples Are Now Available

Yesterday was an important day for Xiaomi, as the company had introduced their two new flagship devices, the Xiaomi Mi 5s and the Mi 5s Plus. These two handsets are successors to the Xiaomi Mi 5, well, sort of. The Xiaomi Mi 5s comes with the same display size as the Mi 5, and a somewhat more powerful spec sheet, but it’s not exactly a huge improvement over the Mi 5. The Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, on the other hand, is a different story, as this phone sports a large 5.7-inch panel, and comes in a 6GB RAM variant, in addition to the model with 4GB of RAM. We’ve already talked about these two smartphones at length, feel free to check out our main announcement, and spec sheet articles if you’d like.

That being said, we’re here to expand upon the info we’ve already shared, and if you’re interested to see what the Mi 5s’ camera can do, well, read on. The company’s CEO, Lei Jun, had shared several camera samples taken with the Mi 5s prior to its announcement, and the company has actually released a ton of additional shots now. First and foremost, it is worth mentioning that the Xiaomi Mi 5s comes with a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, we’re looking at Sony’s IMX378 camera sensor here, which is quite capable if used right. The Mi 5s ships with a 1/2.3-inch sensor whose pixels are larger than usual (1.55um pixel size), which essentially means that the camera lets in plenty of light into the shot, and is more capable than the 16-megapixel snapper on the Mi 5 in that regard. In any case, if you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see quite a few camera shots taken with the Xiaomi Mi 5s’ camera, though do keep in mind that these images had been taken by professional photographers, and even though they haven’t been tampered with, the company did resize them. If you’d like to download all of these images in its original size, you can do so by following the source link down below.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s sports a 5.15-inch fullHD pressure sensitive display, 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoC, and the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is placed below its display. This handset features a 12-megapixel camera on the back, while you’ll find a 4-megapixel snapper up front. The 3,200mAh battery is a part of this package as well, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed here with the company’s MIUI 8 OS.
