After being leaked online last week, Samsung has finally announced the latest addition to its ‘Galaxy J’ lineup. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime happens to be the latest device to be delivered by Samsung and it features some pretty beefy specs considering the smartphone is to cater to the budget and mid-range segment of the ever competitive smartphone market.
Today, the Galaxy J7 Prime was launched in Vietnam, and it has already been listed on the Samsung’s official Vietnam website. If you like to know more about the internals of this device, read on. The Galaxy J7 Prime comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display protected by a Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4. Under the hood, it packs Samsung’s very own Exynos 7870 System-on-Chip, clocked at 1.6 GHz. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card slot. In terms of optics, the Galaxy J7 Prime sports a 13-megapixel shooter on its rear, while an 8-megapixel shooter occupies the front of the device for selfies. Connectivity options available on the device includes support for 4G-LTE networks, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It also packs a decently sized 3300mAh battery which should be able to last a day. There is also a fingerprint sensor for added security incorporated into the home button, situated on the front of the device.
The Galaxy J7 Prime also features Samsung’s ‘S Bike Mode’. This feature allows the device to automatically reply to incoming calls with pre-recorded messages. This feature first appeared on the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) earlier this year and has since become a standard feature on most of its devices in the ‘Galaxy J’ lineup. As for pricing and availability, the Galaxy J7 Prime can be purchased in Vietnam for VND 6,290,000, which equates to roughly $282 at the current exchange rate. At the moment, the device is only available in Vietnam and there is no news on whether or not the device will be sold in other markets. However, it is a possibility that Samsung will release it in other Southeast Asian markets but it is highly unlikely that this device will be sold in the US.
