The final, eighth episode of Minecraft: Story Mode titled “A Journey’s End?” is now available for download on all supported Android devices via an in-app purchase. Like its title suggests, this is the last episode of the first season of Minecraft: Story Mode and Telltale Games still hasn’t revealed whether the second season is in the making. Still, given the fact that the US studio originally planned for five episodes which it then expanded to eight earlier this year, it’s to be presumed the consumer interest is definitely there.
In any case, the final episode of the season still follows Harper and his group of adventurers who are now traveling to the Old Builders’ world on a quest to find a way back home. Apart from traditional adventuring gameplay, this episode also features gladiatorial games and some other interesting stuff that put a twist on Telltale’s well-known formula. If you don’t own an Adventure, i.e. Season Pass for the game, “A Journey’s End?” can be purchased for $4.99. The game is optimized pretty well and should work on most relatively modern devices. More specifically, official minimum hardware requirements list only 1GB of RAM and a dual-core 1.2GHz processor. As for the GPU, even stuff as old as the Adreno 300 or Mali-T600 series will do the job.
After you finish Minecraft: Story Mode and are still in the mood for some Telltale-made mobile games, there’s plenty of those on the Play Store to choose from. The popular studio is currently offering the first two seasons of its The Walking Dead series, The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands, and Game of Thrones. In addition to that, Telltale will soon launch a similar Batman adventure game whose first episode should debut on the Play Store by the end of the year. If you don’t care much for the adventuring genre and just want your daily fix of Minecraft-themed entertainment, there’s always the original game to go back to. The Microsoft-owned Mojang is still regularly updating it with new content and bug fixes so the game always feels fresh, especially if playing online is your cup of tea.
