Six weeks after the first episode of Batman: The Telltale Series debuted on PC and consoles, the Californian studio announced that it has finished the process of porting its latest game to mobile platforms. In fact, the game is already available for iOS devices and should appear on the Play Store in the coming hours. At least, that’s how Telltale usually handles its mobile releases. The first episode of the game is priced at $4.99 and there’s also an in-app purchase that lets you buy the remaining four episodes that are yet to be released for $14.99. In other words, you can save five bucks by purchasing a season pass which may not be a bad idea if you’re interested in Telltale’s games as individual episodes don’t usually stand on their own feet and you’ll want to play the entire season anyway to get the full experience.
As for features, Telltales promises an interactive window the psyche of Bruce Wayne, i.e. Batman. The game features a dark and gritty plot and visuals wrapped around simple point-and-click mechanics that fans of the Californian studio’s work are already used to. Apart from that, expect to make a lot of choices whose consequences will be felt throughout the first season of this unique gaming take on Batman. One new feature that Telltale introduced in its latest game is the so-called “crowd play” mechanic which allows people to stream the game for an audience who can then participate in the decision-making process of the streamer. The plot of the game revolves around Bruce Wayne’s world being pretty much devastated after he makes a series of discoveries that won’t be spoiled here.
It’s unknown how long it will take Telltale to port the second episode of its Batman adventure game to mobile devices but looking at the studio’s previous release schedule patterns, it’s likely it will churn out ports of later episodes at a bit higher rate. In other words, you can expect the mobile port of the second episode to be less than six weeks behind the PC and console versions. Given how episode 2 just launched yesterday, it’ll hopefully be available for download on the Play Store by mid-October and future mobile episodes may even catch up to the release schedule of the PC and console versions of the game.
