Unofficial CyanogenMod 13 ROM Now Available For ZTE Axon 7

The ZTE Axon 7, also known as ZTE Axon 2, was launched back in June this year. The device packs pretty powerful specs while still maintaining a very attractive price point. The device was largely praised by critics for its amazing hardware and very low price point.

For those, who aren’t pleased with ZTE’s custom interface and prefer a stock Android, we have some good news for you that now you can get rid of the less-than-perfect MiFor 4.0 UI from your ZTE Axon 7. An unofficial build of CyanogenMod is now available for the ZTE Axon 7; which is closer to stock Androiod 6.0 Marshmallow, with a raft of improvements and additions. XDA Developers users named Unjustified Dev and DrakenFX is the creator of this unofficial build. If you’re sporting a ZTE Axon 7 device you can now flash this Unofficial build to get a sweet taste of stock Android on your device. Do keep in mind that this build is not intended as your daily driver by any means as it’s created by the independent XDA developers rather than CyanogenMod community itself. Also, the software build is in very initial stage, there are quite a few features are missing or broken. As per ROM’s status details, WiFi and Bluetooth seem to be working fine. While audio, fingerprint scanner, NFC and device sensors are not working at all. Also, you will lose some of the device proprietary features, for example, ZTE’s camera optimizations won’t be available on this custom ROM, resulting in a poor camera quality. It is recommended that you stay away from installing this CyanogenMod build and better wait for a more stable build or an official build from the CyanogenMod community. Though if you don’t mind tinkering and trying out new things on your device, just head over to the XDA forum of the ZTE Axon 7 to download this unofficial build – see link below. As always, you will need an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery installed on your ZTE Axon 7 device to be able to flash this ROM.
