The Galaxy Note 7 has been all over the news in the last couple of weeks. The company’s new flagship phablet launched last month and the company received quite a few pre-orders for the phone. Once the units started shipping, problems started piling up, well, a problem. Some Galaxy Note 7 units seem to have battery problems, when the phone is charging, it can explode, and it has, a number of times judging by reports and Samsung’s official report. The company admitted that this was a considerable problem by recalling the Galaxy Note 7, the phone is currently not available for sale until Samsung solves such issues. The company had also said that they will exchange the affected units, of course.
Now, as already mentioned, we’ve seen quite a few Galaxy Note 7 explosion reports out there, and a new one just surfaced. According to a new report, a car caught fire on a highway in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Now, as was the case with previous incidents, the Galaxy Note 7 was charging when the accident happened. The owner of the car and the device, Clifford Samuels, explained that he was charging the phone while driving, and then all of the sudden the Galaxy Note 7 exploded. This information is still not confirmed by Samsung though, so do take it with a grain of salt before we get the company’s official confirmation, considering some of the previous reports were not exactly all that accurate (at first). A part of this incident was captured on camera by Sharon Cain, a nurse who stopped by when she spotted the incident. Now, this video is a perfect example as to why some airline companies have either warned their passengers not to use / charge the Galaxy Note 7 while they’re in an airplane, or flat out banned their passengers from using the device. If you have purchased the Galaxy Note 7, it might be wise to contact your seller and make sure your device is not one of the affected ones.
