Google’s event is coming up in just a few short days as it’s set for October 4th, and while there is slated to be quite a few things announced, at least that’s what is expected, two of the biggest things that are likely going to be making an appearance will be the Pixel and the Pixel XL smartphones. While it isn’t officially confirmed that these will be getting an announcement next Tuesday, it is largely expected due to the increasing amount of leaks over the last month as well as the teasers from Google. With that said, there is much that is already seemingly known about the Pixel and the Pixel XL, from head to toe with the design and from inside out with the hardware specifications and software.
Again, none of these are confirmed details, but the chances are quite high that what is publicly being discussed in regards to these two devices is what consumers can expect to see. While both phones are due to be a big hit with loyal android users, rumored to be coming with Android 7.1 Nougat, which one is the perfect fit is probably a question that many will be asking themselves, and this may be hard to pin down for some, as there are a couple of factors to consider in regards to the decision. Both devices are likely to have very similar specifications, including a quad-core processor with 4GB of RAM, 12MP rear-facing cameras (potentially the same as last year’s Nexus 6P) and 8MP front-facing cameras, as well as fingerprint sensors on the back for mobile payments and unlocking the device. One big difference with the two phones is going to be screen size, as the Pixel is rumored to have a 5-inch display while the Pixel XL, the larger of the two (hence the name “XL”) is rumored to have a 5.5-inch display. Another potential difference is likely to be the cost, which is rumored to start at $649 for the Pixel, with the Pixel XL set to cost more. This difference in price, both of which are looking to be fairly costly compared to Nexus devices from previous years, could be a major deciding factor, and some will certainly want to stick with a larger screen size, but may not want to pay the higher price. The question is which phone are you more interested in picking up? The Pixel or the Pixel XL?
