The Xiaomi Mi 5 is the company’s current flagship smartphone. This device was introduced back in February during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, along with Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagships. The Xiaomi Mi 5 has been available for purchase for quite some time now, and the company seems to be getting ready to announce some new hardware, new devices that are more powerful than the Xiaomi Mi 5, read on.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi Note 2 have been rumored for quite some time now. The Xiaomi Mi 5s will be a more powerful variant of the Xiaomi Mi 5 it seems, and it will sport a somewhat different design if rumors and leaks are to be believed. The Mi Note 2, on the other hand, will be Xiaomi’s all-new flagship phablet, and a direct successor to the Mi Note and Mi Note 2 phablets which were introduced back in January last year. Having that in mind, some new Xiaomi Mi 5s info just surfaced. According to a new leak, the Xiaomi Mi 5s will sport a 5.15-inch display (just like the Mi 5) which will offer 3D touch support, which essentially means it will have a pressure sensitive display, something that the Mi 5 did not offer. The Xiaomi Mi 5s will, reportedly, be fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor running at 2.4GHz, along with the Adreno 530 GPU clocked at 650MHz. The device will also sport 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and it seems like 256GB of internal storage will be included here as well. The 16-megapixel OIS snapper with 4-axis OIS will be placed on the back of the Mi 5s, seemingly the same camera that was utilized in the Mi 5.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s will also pack in a 3,490mAh battery, along with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. The phone will also ship with Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and two nano SIM slots, if this leak is to be believed. The device will be 7.25mm thick, while it will weight 147 grams, which means it will be slightly heavier than the Mi 5. We still do not know when will this smartphone see the light of day, but we’ve seen quite a few leaks thus far, and it is possible that the company plans to introduce the Mi 5s and Mi Note 2 at the same time, though it’s not that likely. In any case, stay tuned.
